Procedure for restarting the rack
There are times that the MEG rack needs to be rebooted. If the ACQ starts with some noisy channels, usuall restarting the ACQ will make
the noise go away. But if the HLU does not work, you must reboot the entire rack.
Well this morning we had to reboot the rack. Acq first started up with some noisy channels. Restarting Acq made that noise go away, but then HLU didn't work, it was like the coils were plugged in wrong, but worse, it couldn't localize any of the coils. Rebooting the rack fixed that. So sometimes you have to reboot the rack.
There are 2 important buttons: one button
- First you must power off the rack. Press the button on the console with the ring of light around it. The light changes color.
- Next you must power off the HLU box which is located on top of the new rack. The HLU box has a button with a light in it. Press it to turn off the HLU.
- Return to the console and power the rack back on.
- Wait about 10 seconds.
- Next turn the HLU box back on.
- Now you can launch Acq.
