Empty Room Recordings

We periodically make recordings with nobody in the MSR, as a way to monitor background noise levels. The datasets are made available here. The Download link points to a compressed tarball of the dataset. The topo plots show the RMS values for the entire run, using a 150 Hz bandwidth (click to enlarge). Notch filters at 60 Hz and 120 Hz are also applied. One channel, MRC15, is often noisier than the others, so the second topo plot shows the RMS values after applying a 2 Hz high-pass filter. A list of the top RMS values (fT) along with the corresponding channel names is also shown.
